About

“Music in Action: Heritage Against Hate," was a live, in-person event featuring chamber and solo works composed and performed by API identifying musicians, a gallery show of original artwork, and a post-concert discussion with Asian Musical Voices of America. Mansi Shah, founder and curator of Colors of Classical Music, hosted this event and guided the audience through a program of works by composers including Tōru Takemitsu, Chen Yi, Shruthi Rajasekar, and more. The concert culminated in a panel discussion addressing many of the issues unearthed through the performances. During the event, a number of API identifying visual artists displayed and sold their artwork in a gallery adjacent to the concert hall.

Charities

PROTESTRA donated a portion of both in-person and virtual ticket sales to Friends of ANIM (Afghanistan National Institute of Music) and Heart of Dinner in support of the API community.
